25th Int’l Islamic Unity Conference opens in Tehran

The 25th International Islamic Unity Conference began on Wednesday in the presence of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Iran's Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi is also present in the event.
Some 271 scholars and thinkers from 50 world countries are taking part in the conference being held at Tehran Azadi Hotel.
Russia, France, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Tunisia, Lebanon, Malaysia, Sudan, the US, Pakistan, India, Thailand, Sweden, Azerbaijan, Britain, Denmark, Jordan, Iraq, Indonesia, Turkey, Afghanistan, the UAE, Gambia, Senegal and Yemen are among the participating countries.
A number of Shia scholars from several Iranian provinces are also attending the international Islamic event.
The conference aims at preparing ground for consolidation of unity and solidarity among the Islamic nations and finding solutions to the problems facing the world of Islam.
The 25th International Islamic Unity Conference will end on February 10.
